Mini- when did they ditch the CVT ?

Howdee mini folk.

Am tempted to get a Mini in automatic guise (need an auto) , but am only reading bad things about the CVT boxes. Seems they aren't reliable so what year do I need to look at for a "proper" auto ?

Don't want to spend more than 2.5k so appreciate will be an early car etc.

Early ones up to 2006 came with cvt. You need to get the later r56 model (2006ish onwards) or if you want an earlier one then only the Cooper s (r53) had a proper auto box
