About to order a JCW Clubman, November delivery.

I'd asked the dealer for a quote on spots, I think the car look better with them and my JCW cab has them......parts department says no longer available, tried another dealer, same answer.

I'm assuming the front end update means the existing brackets etc don't fit, not sure if they will bring some out or not, currently looking at after market options.....any ideas?

James.

I've been trying to get the spots for my wife's new F57 LCI 2 convertible. My dealer is telling me the same thing, but says he will advise as soon as he knows more. Not holding my breath.

I had a JVW Clubman demo car last week, now ordered one that should arrive in November.

Firstly stock audio better than expected so I'm now 50/50 on an actual aftermarket system or not.

On the spots one of their master techs came out and was comparing my current JCW cab's location and fittings to the front end on the LCI.....the conclusion was there's nowhere for the brackets to fed through without making cuts, even if there were the brackets likely wouldn't fit.

I'm hoping by Novemeber time frame they may have a 'new' variant available but not holding my breath. I would really.like them on the car but, fortunately the dealer has a local sign writer that does custom striping so if I can get a design for that right it may reduce the visual loss of not having spots.

So far I've found zero aftermarket options of pictures of an LCI with spots on.

I've been in further contact with my dealer and here's their response, after they contacted Mini HQ/ Parts/Product Team

The UK product team have come back to me and unfortunately said that nothing has been communicated by Munich so at the moment they don't think there are plans to introduce spotlights for the LCI2.

Not great news as the spots really make the front stand out more.

My car was tracking to the end of November which is what they said when it was ordered...I went onto Mini chat a couple of weeks back and they told me it was in build on the Monday, then on Friday it was at the dealers PDI centre....caught me well off guard.

Anyway picked it up about 10 days ago, 2 weeks ahead of schedule. Asked the question about spots and got the same answer, shame really. I had planned custom stripes as the dealer have a guy that's well regarded that does custom jobs and charges less than the mini option so we just played with design to enhance the front a bit.

Wasn't able to order the HK due to the shortages so it's into a local sound shop in a couple of weeks for the Audison setup. Only other thing I noticed was when I came to fit the dog guard, they've done away with the load hooks the cheap gits, anyway the threaded holes are still in the panels so 10 minutes effort and a trip to the local DIY store and that was sorted.

All in loving the car so far.

Seems to be a consistent theme of spotlights and stock audio.

I have a F55 Cooper S sport arriving on Friday and no luck regards the spots I've had the same response as above.

The Audio I'm curious about (stock car so I didn't get the choice) but does the base model have an amp ? I read conflicting info between bimmer tech who say it runs off the head unit and then Lohen offer a non H&K upgrade which has an amp ?? so not sure if the AMP is a retrofit and if so does stock wiring have spare connections for this ?

Or is the stock audio fine and I shouldn't be thinking about it (had H&K on all BMW and Mini's before)

Having just had some Audison kit put in mine and been given the original parts back I can confirm it did have a small amp in it.

I've added Audison components to the doors, Audison 8.9 DSP amp (was supposed to be the 4.9 but Audison didn't have any so got a 'free' upgrade) and an 8" Audison active sub under the false floor in the boot.

Under seats and rears are the same but they did some jiggery pockery on filtering frequencies etc....its better than the HK I had in my JCW Cab so well worth a look.

I've given up on spots!!

Interesting, when I said Lohen it's actually Audison kit. Do you have a link or a description of the package you went for ?

Similar to the package Lohan do but a local specialist supplied and fitted.

Went with the following.

Audison Prima AP8.9 bit - 10196372100019
Audison Prima APBMW X4E - 00310092100474
Audison Prima APBX 8 AS - 00238502000203

The rears and under seat woofers left standard but now driven off the Audison amp with the frequencies filtered out. The sub is active so I have a separate dial controller mounted in front of the gear selecter which allows me to pick everything from no sub to shake the ground sub......an alternative to the sub would be to go with the Audison under seat woofer upgrade, I just preferred the acti e sub after sitting in a demo car.
