I owned a year old 2nd hand Mini Cooper S Start/Stop. Steptronic Double-Clutch Transmission

I have recently experiences my car rolled back every time I stop at the traffic lights on a not too steep Hill.

Do you know how to check whether this car has Hill Start assist technology or anti roll back?

If so, can you advice how to stop car rolling back once I shift my foot from break pedal to accelerator pedal? I always use hand break every time I stop on the hill. This problem has never happened in my previous Ford Fiesta. But I guess Ford has Hill start assist. I’m a bit surprised if Mini automatic / steptronic gearbox doesn’t have this technology.

Thanks

This is based on nothing other than my own JCW Clubman with the newer eight speed box, but your car sounds broken!

What does it do on the flat, does it creep forward when in drive?

Hi Dolf,

I rang my Mini dealer and he said my car ( and so many Minis ) doesn’t have Hill Start Assist. All I have to do
Is only set to “D” without handbrake.

It works so my car stop rolling back now!!!

Strange but works!!!

Thanks any way

Got same 3 door cooper s with 7spd DCT , leave mine in D all time at junctions never had a problem.
Are you moving it to neural when it happens? Never thought about it before just drove car same way as E91 with torque convertor auto box which has hill start assist. will take more notice with both and see what difference is.
