No sound through the speakers! Cooper S 2010 convertible

Hi guys,
Can anyone please help?
I’ve had my Mini Cooper S convertible 2010 for over a year now with no issues. All of a sudden the sound stopped coming through the speakers even though all the audio lights etc. are on. The next time I used it they were working again and thought everything was ok. Next drive out it had stopped again and not come on ever since! It has got the Harman Kardon system and have read that the amps can just stop working. I have checked the fuses and they are fine. Has this happened to anyone else or can you think of anything else it might be? I’m guessing it is amp out next job and getting it checked/repaired.
Also anyone know if the amp is under the passenger seat or in the boot behind the left side panel on a 2010 model before I take a look and break something?
