DAB RADIO and FM no signal

I've just purchased my first 62 plate Mini Countryman 1.6D and love it, The infotainment on the LCD screen is very simple to use via my toggle switch but I'm having a nightmare listening to it. It's a used car so maybe the owner before me tinkered with it but I am having the following issues.
1) Having had years of trouble free years of listening to DAB radio in my previous cars, my Mini will constantly drop out and lose signal, no matter what station I choose, then when it drops out the system goes to FM but instantly tells me there is NO SIGNAL
2) I have an android phone and my previous cars displays on screen the narrative of what and who I am listening to. With my Mini I can listen to my music but the display says UNKNOWN
I have had the aerial connection checked and it is the original aerial too?
Has anyone else come across these issues?
