Don’t know too much about the JCW, but these are based on the R53 and plenty off threads on here about those cars.

Check if it’s a real JCW, a lot of people have made them to be JCW rather than be factory cars.

Only the very last ones were factory cars. The huge majority left the factory as standard R53 Cooper Ss and were coverted to JCWs at the dealership. I'm guessing, but let's say 95% are NOT factory cars. The owner could get their car converted by a dealer to JCW months or even years after it had been on the road as a standard R53.
And it is easy to tell if it is a 'real' JCW - the 'watch out it could be a fake' thing is largely an urban myth. Put about by folk who know nothing about them.
