Hi all, I’ve noticed the secondary ( i.e lower) boot floor well on my partners F56 Cooper is full of water. Having looked over the net, it appears to be a common problem ( but I haven’t seen a difinitive answer)The car is a 67 plate so circa 6 months or so out of warranty, so I was wondering if anyone knows of a permanent fix or if owners have had any luck of goodwill out of warranty at all ?
Edited to add that oddly everything above the lower floor is dry.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

My wife has a May 17 Cooper and 6 months before the warranty expired we reported that the front carpets were wet, it turned out to be a kinked drain tube on the air con unit, almost certainly a manufacturing fault. The Mini dealer fitted a new heating & ventilating unit plus new carpets. While with them they replaced the rear hatch seal and rear lamps as apparently they are known to be prone to leaking. The car was with them for 3 weeks due to parts shortages and during that time they managed to get punctures in two tyres, so they fitted four new tyres free of charge. We were more than happy with that but glad that we didn’t have to pay.

Whether you’ll get any goodwill is another matter.

Our 67 plate 5 door Mini also suffers from water ingress into the lower boot floor. I discovered this in January following the storms. Had to take out the tyre compressor kit as it was soaked. I stripped out as much of the carpet trim and plastic trim parts and am fairly certain that it is getting in where there is a bodywork seal near the air extraction flap ( if you press in the rubber flaps you may be able to see water ) . I am certain that water is not getting in through the rear lights as those are dry. This seems to be a common issue on the mini f56 forum with no definitive fix.
