The Mrs just got home from work, went to lock her car as usual, got in the house, and alarm goes off. We go out, check all doors and windows are shut, locked it up, 30 secs later, off it goes again.
She said it was fine this morning when she locked it at work, so this has only just become a random problem.

Any ideas? I don't know much about Minis, but it's an A-reg with 80k on the clock.....would it be battery related? Cold temps affecting something?

I'm not much help to her with things like a car alarm, I lock my old Evo VI with a key!

Well, I'll leave that for the Mrs as I'm terrified of spiders! haha

I did ask a friend of mine about this, and he said to shut the air vents, turn the fan setting to windscreen as the internal air flow might be causing an issue.

I did this, and it seemed to fix it!? Sounded like a weird fix to me, but it hasn't gone off since!

Faulty bonnet switches are a common issue on all BMW platforms, however I would see if charging the battery up makes a difference particularly if the car hasn’t had much use in this recent cold weather.

Battery was my first thought, but she has been using it fairly regularly. Who knows how old the battery is though, so if this problem comes back I might hook it up to my c-tek and see what that does.
