124 Spider to R52 Cooper S
Discussion
Hi all,
Coming near the end of the HP term on my 124 Spider and given how few miles I'm currently doing due to the dreaded C word as well as already owning a second car considering not paying the balloon and getting a cheap (sub 3k) cabriolet as a replacement. Having done some searching around seems the R52 Cooper S is in the right price range and looks like a good choice to me, plus the back seats would be a useful addition.
Unlikely anyone has done this switch but I'm sure many of you have driven MX5s as well, do you think I'll be satisfied with the MINI? I'm not scared of the spanners so maintenance etc will all be done by me and I'm sure I'll do a few upgrades here and there along the way.

I have gone from MX5's to an R55 clubman, I wasn't using the MX5 as much as I wanted to and the Clubby made so much more sense while still being a hoot to drive (mine is ~220bhp and will be more with a decent mapping session). Not driven a rag top Mini so unsure if it will feel wobbley after a 124.
