Hi all new to this forum long story so here we go I purchased a mini cooper 1.6 57 plate for the wife 12 months ago
When I test drive the car there was no smoke out of the back under load or using the engine as a break then accelerate all clear
The garage serviced it blue smoke when accelerate took it back to the garage all ok
The car uses very little oil I use the car also to give it a 20 min run on motorway all ok till 1 day get warning light on and no performance
Plugged in said was cat fault so new cat
But the car was parked up for a month and not moved so off for mot few bit but emissions high but passed so I decided to run car for a couple of days now we have developed a cutting out problem when I park up and lumpy on tick over hope theres enough info many thanks

Could it be plugs
Sounds electrical.

I would wager the smoke is valve guide seals need replacing. Common issue on Mini's.

Ref the cutting out, that could be the high pressure fuel pump but then it could be a number of things. Any codes? Could be a faulty coil pack?
