Hi guys, hope every one is well. I have a 2003 mini that the central locking has not worked since I got it last year. The key that came with it was messed up and I have had it repaired and it has a new battery but it still doesn't work. I did the reconfigure thing of putting the key in the ignition and pressing the buttons in a certain way and it came to life! But it will on work if I put the key right next to mirror which I believe holds the receiver. My main question is, can I buy a second hand mirror with the receiver in and if I do will it have to all be reprogrammed? If it will cost alot I will just stick to manually opening the car. Also do anyone know how to remove thhe mirror. Not sure if this matters to the issue but the auto dim on the mirror also doesn't work. Would that cause it not to work?

Thanks in advance for any help.

The interior mirrors are plug and play- just make sure you get the right one with the right part number

Hi Elliott, cheers for the reply. I have got the mirror off and actually unplugged it, which I thought would stop the central locking working but again if I point the fob near the location of the mirror thhe central locking works but not if not close. Am probably wrong but I thought the central locking receiver in the mirror when need to be plugged in. Is it correct that the receiver is in the mirror? Thanks
