Mini JCW range on Kart Track (Portugal)
Discussion
Now live in Portugal and have a Countryman SE All4
About a month ago Mini here in Porto organised an event on a Kart Track. Was skeptical at the beginning as I thought it was going to be just a tour show.
Instead we went with driving istructors of a professional driving school sitting with us on the narrow kart track and full throttle
I now get it on how close is a Mini to a Kart (I do karting on that track). What a lot of fun!!! They were pushing us to floor it and the car was on rails.
We had a session on a 4WD (either the Countryman or the Clubman 306hp) and then on a FWD (Convertible 231hp). The convertible was very balanced and "neutral" and only in the last big turn with some wheel spinning you could understand it was FWD
There is a lag (something that you do not feel in my hybrid) but then the 306HP engine is explosive
At the end we had 1 or 2 lap with a professional driver and that is when you realise how bad you are and how even more capable the car is (it was the 231hp coupe)
Do not know if they organise similar events there but it is a huge amount of fun
Little correction to clarify it was organised by the Mini Dealer in Porto and not by Mini
Here is the official video
