So, I've bought a cheap R53 Cooper S and it has some faults and I wondered if anyone can steer (excuse the pun) me in the right direction :-)

Tyre Pressure & DSC Light comes on and doesn't go out.

Possible issue with the steering alignment sensor, upon inspecting the sensor for wear/damage the screw/bolt that holds the steering in place within the foot well has been cross thread, once removed the bolt goes back in but allows play through the steering wheel>

A possible fault with the Harman Kardon Amplifier - no sound from radio

The boot latch has failed meaning the light on the dash stays on. The boot locks but wont open from outside so has to be opened by pulling the manual release under the back seat.

Any info would be greatly appreciated as once I've remedied these faults I intend to start making some enhancements such as exhaust, intercooler etc :-)

No help on the fixes, but have you joined the R53 Owners club on FB? Really big following, and loads of support for those fixes.

I realise this may be a bit late.

The tyre low pressure light may be a wheel speed sensor. Piece of doddle cake to change.

Chaps,

Got this all sorted. Ordered a steering angle sensor repair kit from Germany off of Ebay. Fitted, light still on :-(

Took the car to my local tyre dealer who plugged in their Autel diagnostic OBD reader. Recalibrated the SAS and hey presto, the German fix worked. All lights went out and car is now ok
