Urgent help JCW red roof

Hi,

I cannot go into any details as of yet but can anyone post a photo of the top corner of the boot when open where the red roof meets the body colour on a countryman. Top left or right would be great.

Many thanks. My issues are now resolved With help from the dealer and Mini UK but cannot post on a public forum any further details.

It turns out a bad paint job was the least of its worries, bent chassis is probably the worst part. Not great on a car with less than 500 miles on the clock.

So you were sold a damaged / repaired with twisted chassis with under 500 miles on the clock? I see you have noted that it is going back at the weekend on another thread, so that's good.

Going back Saturday. Offered a brand new replacement 12k off list, 0% APR and 1st year road tax thrown in. Not a bad deal I think

That did not go well. Brand new car in collection area with a nice dent on the passenger door. Next stop now is a date in court against the dealer. Will be requesting Mini to attend to explain why a smashed up car that was repaired (very poorly) entered the dealer network. Would never buy a Mini again after this experience.

Why court? Isn't the dealer just going to give you you money back?

I part exchanged my old car in against the pre reg JCW. Mini uk have admitted the pre reg was involved in a front end and repaired. I spoke with dealer and the rejection was accepted and I was going ro take my old car back. They offered a brand new JCW as a solution on good terms so agreed. New car dented so did not take it and my old part ex they have sold And made approx £3.5k in profit and that takes into account the £1300 they spent on my old car making in approved used. So now the dealer has made £3.5k and I have no car. I believe it is wrong for a dealer to make a profit and leave me with no car. To be fair I do not care if I win in court for compensation but Mini as the previous owner will be required to attend court to explain why they put an unsafe car into the dealer network.

So the first car was repaired but what makes you think it was unsafe? A judge isn’t going to care a not about MINI putting a repaired car into their sales network against their own guidelines.

Hub to hub was 5mm shorter on offside compared with nearside. This is consistent with the offside impact damage under the bonnet. More upset dealer has made money on my part ex when I have done nothing wrong.

Test driving an x2 M35 on Saturday. Will be interesting if the engine sounds the same as the countryman sounded like a diesel at low revs unless something else under the bonnet was rattling.

Given the deal they did you on the replacement is have stuck with that after getting the door sorted. You could have rolled that over and made an even better profit than they made on your trade in.

Brand new car, 12k discount, needed a door repair.
Do you have any idea of how many repairs are carried out just before cars leave the factory?

In 2004 I purchased a new MINI Cooper with my wife. It was specced exactly as she wanted. When I popped into the dealer a couple of days prior to delivery I was invited into their PDI booth to see her new car. Above the door shut line the roof was creased on both sides as if a ratchet strap had been used on it. The salesman was as shocked as me but true to his word the paint less dent repair man fixed it before delivery.

Stuff happens. Your case was more serious though but I would have kept the replacement and stinking deal they gave you.

New car deal was not as great as they made out as they had modified my deposit contribution plus the replacement car had a couple of options missing that I really wanted. Going to call it quits now and but another small SUV for the wife but would never buy another or trust Mini after this experience.
