I find myself looking at these. The one I've found in particular looks like decent fun and from for the mutts / fam. 230-something BHP i think.

4WD too, i did not know they did these is AWD, interesting!

Loads of toys on this particular one but might be standard.. Unsure.

Apologies, just seen there is another, similar thread.

Looks a decent spec with upgraded nav, HK and HUD. All nice to have. The only issue with the older JCW is that it's not that quick - 6.2 to 60 if I remember correctly. Certainly not slow, but short of the competition until the 306 bhp model came out.

I think it's probably "enough" for what I'm looking for but as i understand it they are fairly responsive to a decent tune / base mods by way the usual filters, exhaust, and suitable map? Should take it closer to the 300 but wonder how much slower it would feel because of the 4WD and losses through the drivetrain?

Is the power biased more to the rear on these?

Some googling answered the power split.... Electronic clutch, what could go wrong...

"The Clubman’s quirk is to twin the petrol motor with Mini’s All4 set-up, which due to a bevel gear on the front differential and an electro-hydraulic clutch at the rear, lets the back axle share the torque distribution when the DSC system thinks it appropriate."

Drive it, and if it makes you smile, buy it! I think we all spend far too much time reading stuff on the internet. Cars that are often criticised will often make lots of people massively happy. Audi TTs spring to mind, and I think MINIs fall into the same camp.

A very good shout. I've decided to do this very thing. Well I've sent an email to the dealer to ask what the story is with test drives in the current climate.

I tried one a month ago, really wanted to like it. But the power was very underwhelming, really didn’t feel quick at all.
