Clutch or gearbox

Hi all, I'm new here first time on a forum so take it easy, mini one 04, problem I have, new clutch fitted after a 20 min drive struggling to select gears, had the gearbox fluid changed today and clutch and brake fluid and still no better. The car is hard to put into gear, the car is juddering when in gear and stationary. Took the car to be looked at today and have been advised it could be the gearbox as the plug was removed to drain the fluid the plug was covered in metal shards. Any help would be appreciated,this inadvance
