We have Uniroyal Rainsport 3s all round on our Mini but I need to replace one front one. I can't seem to get a Rainsport 3 in the size, only the newer 5. Can I have a RS 5 and RS 3 on the same axel and if so would I be better switching front and rear? I contacted Uniroyal who couldn't give me any advice, except to contact the manufacturer. Thanks.

Dave.

I'd just replace the worst two tyres (they're cheap enough) and put the new on the back. (Not for handling/aquaplaning scaremongery, just they wear slower, etc).

Could always keep the other RS3 as a "spare" if there's plenty 9f life in it.... Sods law says you'll get a puncture soon after.... hehe

In part agreement with the above, I would never mix tyres (even of the same tyre but different tread depth) on an axle.

However the new ones should go on the front for exactly the reason eluded to above & dismissed.
