Hello Everybody!

I am in the process of changing my BMW F10 530d for a Mini Cooper S. An odd progression but I've gone from 30000 miles a year to about 6000, and nearly all of my driving now involves B roads and lanes I thought it'd be more fun.

Very pleased with the one I have found as it's the 'small rear light' Mini and in the colour I'd have chosen if I bought a new one.

Deposit paid, going to see it Thursday.
27000 miles on a 12 plate. From a dealer & strong money but has to be one of the best about.

As part of the process I read lots on here, so thank you to the various authors and contributors!

Wow low miles! What sort of warranty do Mini give on that age car?

Lovely colour, my g/f has the exact same on her F56.

I love driving the car, but the constant looks from guys thinking I am a girl driver gets tiresome laugh

I will be a disappointment I'm sure. :-)

Well I have had it a week and am delighted. It's a great car and I have done about 100 miles a day since I got it just by taking the long way home from everywhere!

Interesting is peoples responses, given my previous history of Jaguar XJ-S / BMW 5 series / BMW 6 series / Range Rovers...

...Noddy called, he wants his car back...

...do you now have a 17 year old girlfriend? Is that her's?..

...That's gorgeous, amazing colour...

...Didn't know they did a Cooper S in that colour...

...They really are fun aren't they!..

And that's just from guys! laugh

I have decided that there is a distinct correlation between how insecure you are and your response to the Mini.

I love the colour. We are just in the process of trading our R56 MCS to a F55 MCS.

Ours was on the TLC plan but the previous owner, a family friend, did intermediate oil changes. So every 10k. It drunk oil. I changed it to a slightly thicker Miller oil and it got better, but still dire. It’s just what they all do. If you are doing that sort of mileage I’d be checking every Saturday morning.

They are great cars so have fun. With a tank of V-Power and the sport button pressed the exhaust makes some silly noises!

Nice, unusual colour too. Mine was boring silver-white.

Add a JCW rear box for the right (IMO) amount of exhaust. Fitted one to mine and was perfect.

Thanks for the heads up!

The mileage will calm down, just got new toy syndrome!

I shall have to try the V-Power and sport button combo, Thanks.

R56 N18 here and it uses approx 100ml per 1000miles... The later engines cars are dramatically better than the N14 ones!

I 've heard lost of good stuff about the N18 so here's hoping!

Any tips on the best way to use the awful dipstick! Seems awkward to read and putting it back in is a knack I'm sure I'll develop!
