as it says in the title I've got an R55, which I'm quite enjoying, but it has a nasty habit of leaving a calling card, which I'm not enjoying!

I know that the N14 has a bit of a reputation for liking a drop (or 5) of oil and mine is no different in that regard, however, regular level-checks and (if needed) top-ups keep it sounding non-rattly. It's the dripping that is annoying me - any particular place to look for leaks? I do seem to recall it's a matter of "...they all do that sir..." but what the best way to stop them all doing that (short of selling said car since 1: I like it and 2: it is annoying but realistically minor)?

Pretty much anywhere can leak where there is a gasket and many do to one extent or another.

There is no substitute for getting under the bonnet/car cleaning it all up fastidiously & then running the engine/going for a drive until you can see whete it is coming from.

MIne had a leak and it was coming from the oil feed pipe to the turbo, which is a common place apparently.

cool - your drip 'pattern' would appear to mimic mine (ie an occasional, minor, drip rather than a patch all the time. Will need to book it in to have it looked at thumbup
