Hey guys,

I want some advice; my 2016 Mini Cooper has a fault on the passenger side due to the puppy chewing some wiring under the seat. The dealership have just quoted me £7000 to fix as it will need a whole new wiring loom. This doesn’t sit right with me. Any advice gratefully received.

You might want to try a local auto electrician.

Yes, should be easily fixable.

My inlaws had a similar issue with their Smart and a puppy - auto electrican fixed it by patching the cables up rather than replacing the loom.

I had an issue with the loom in my Tuscan but that was little more serious and meant the car was litterally taken to pieces, doors off, seats outm carpets out etc and the entire loom replaced.

It was quite a sight to see the old loom laid out on the floor for me to inspect. I would not have relished that job but the upside was that t was put back together better than it was before smile

Once fixed, be careful with said puppy doing the same again...
