Does anyone run an aftermarket gearknob on their R56 Cooper S? The top has came off of the stock item (again) after the previous bodge with superglue...

Yes, have a look here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=18...

Feels great in the hand and due to the weight it also gives a much more positive and less 'rubbery' shift. Quality is beyond belief as well. He does pool ball knobs as well which are pretty cool looking.

Very nice but quite pricey. The JCW looks good too but you're looking at £170 for one of those!

Pricey, but something you directly interact with for thousands of miles. I have to say that I love it and how it has also improved the feel of the actual gear change itself.

I also had my steering wheel recovered in dark grey alcantara to match the dash and it greatly improves the feel through that interface too.
