Hi

We're looking to replace our second car with a new Cooper S or JCW

Our local Mini dealer is just awful and Id rather pull out my toenails than visit, let alone give them business
We looked at a car there a few years ago and our discount suggestion went down badly.

Is anyone else likely to give me as good a deal as Berry Heathrow advertise on social media, or are they the only Mini bargain bucket shop around? A Carwow query yesterday threw up some deals but none as good as Berry.

If anyone has recently haggled a 3 door Cooper S or JCW then Id be grateful if you could share details.
For reference the current Berry deal is 280/month for a Cooper S or 295 for a JCW.
4y PCP with no initial deposit and 8k miles per year

Cheers

Chris at Marshalls in Bournemouth is a very commercially astute guy.

(Don’t know if this is your local dealer!).

Thanks for the reply
They would be a fair bit longer away however money talks

When we bought locally a few years ago it was a premium product however times change and being forced to sit through hard sells for the usual overpriced add ons on top of a grim walk in experience isnt something Im willing to tolerate for a 10p discount.

Cheers

I had a 2001 and 2004 mini and found discounts difficult to come by back then, but have found my local mini dealer was more willing to play ball this time round when I ordered my S, 3 weeks ago. When trade ins and discounts were taken into consideration they were only £500 behind the best I could find and it’s not worth me driving from Cumbria for that, so you never know they might play ball!

Why not deal with Berrys then at Heathrow?

Get a quote on carwow, then take it into the dealership.

Pleasant surprise alert

Walked off the street yesterday to local boys, bagged a test drive then showed them the Berry quote which was greeted with much sucking in of cheeks, a 20 minute wait "to talk to the boss" and then they matched it

Result!

They then gave me the hard sell, inc a Powerpoint presentation, to try and flog the worlds most expensive GAP, alloy cover and paint protection but happily I kept my strength.

Cheers

Not really, I was very polite

The sales guy had mentioned GAP and told me how much they wanted for it (stupid money) but still had to go through the charade of getting the 'finance guy' to come and talk to me with his laptop and Powerpoint presentation of how the world would end if I didnt take it

They are employees and only doing what the dealership group demands of them so no point getting arsey with them and the coffee was good so I just went through the motions and said I could get it much, much cheaper to which they had no argument

You have to wonder what most other people do though - presumably have a hot flush at a £200 discount and then sign up to GAP, alloy cover, paint protection and all of the other ste they push

Cheers

Sounds something along the lines of something my sister fell for...

I don't think before long there will be a car finance miss-selling compensation racket (like PPI) for all the policies that they give you figures that include everything rather than the base figure without GAP etc.
I know plenty of people that don't necessarily ask all the right questions sadly people just see the headline figures and not always interested int the details.
