I replaced mine with EBC yellow stuff , but mines just the cooper S, F56. but just mapped @ 260BHP, and the pads still doing a great job,

however i paid £80 for mine, the JCW version is double !!

https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/mini/mini-h...

so not sure they are value for money,

as above also have heard good things about mintex,

given the price of the yellow stuff, i might have to think twice about a jcw brake upgrade !!!!

Have you noticed much improvement with the yellowstuffs? Any downsides?
I've got an R56 Cooper S but they share the same 294mm front disc diameter as the F56, so should be comparable.
I would imagine the stock set up would struggle with 260bhp!

Yellowstuff are portrayed as an upgrade pad suitable for fast road/track.

They aren't!

I have used them on track cars & struggled to get more than a full track day out of them.

Quite simply they aren't worth the additional money over stock pads.

Boggo Mintex, Brembo or Pagid are as good as anything unless you are going on track & if you are you need to go much better than EBC.

Will be for fast road use, not track. Have seen some good reviews and brake tests.
Ferodo DS2500 might also fit the bill, but about 190 quid for front pads.

If they are for road use, whether fast or normal, just stick with good quality (Not EBC) well-respected aftermarket/OE pads, they are designed for the job

For my 2015 F56 JCW I need new discs and pads all round. I've been quoted ~£850 fitted for OEM items using a local indy.

1) Price quoted about right?
2) I don't use it for track days, just the daily commute - Should I consider other brake options?

Thoughts appreciated.

I got some nice Brembo discs and pads all round on mine now (though older R58).

They were much cheaper than what you quote (something like £400 fitted I think - I know I'm possibly comparing apples with pears but £850 sounds very expensive).

With the Brembos, you also get some nice drilled and slotted front discs and the disc hubs are painted silver/grey so they look better and stave off rusting for longer :-

I've found them to be really good and would recommend.

Thanks Steve - I have, but they don't show all the Brembo items. It'll give my local one a call.

They are the same as I had fitted on my previous JCW R56. I'll keep looking as I agree, £850 seems to be up there with main dealer pricing.
