2010 Mini Cooper - No power to radio
Discussion
This is my first post, and i am hoping for some advice.
We have a 2010 mini cooper convertible, we have owned it for most its running life and to be fair had very little issues with it. Its now at about 50,000 miles.
One of the tail lights went last week, and we brought it into a local garage to switch the light. The machanic took about 2 hours to change the bulb and holder in the end, and said he was having issues getting to the light.
On having the car back, the same day, we noticed that the reversing sensors were no longer working (beeping).
We then realized that there was no power to the radio / cd / Bluetooth system. We had not picked up on this at first mainly as our main garage we go to always seem to turn the radio / cd player off during any work. The lights showing fuel gauge were still working.
We took the car back, and the mechanic checked the fuses located in the box in drivers panel, and those under the bonnet. He then re-checked the wiring at the tail light, and after that hit a blank.
He has now said it was just a coincidence that the CD player has stopped working as they have checked it all their end.
Can anyone suggest what may have happened here?
On talking to a friend he mentioned possibly if the radio was on when the mechanic was doing the work, it may have blown the fuse behind the radio system (which the mechanic i dont believe checked). He also mentioned something about if he used the wrong wattage bulb.
Thank you for any assistance
