So bought an F57 Mini Cooper SD 6 months ago and booked it into National Tyres to have the following work

Oil Change
MOT
Tyre replaced
Rear brake pads
Brake fluid

It’s the first time any garage has seen the car since we purchased it and we’ve had no issues with the keys until now.

Next day after collecting the car both key fobs have stopped working, they will not open the doors or start the engine unless I hold the key fob to the steering column.
I have replaced both batteries in the fobs (although I’ve not had any low battery warning from the car) and the problem remains. National are saying nothing to do with them.

Thoughts? Anybody know how I can fix this?

~Thanks in advance.

Dave.

Does this only happen outside your house or outside work by any chance?

Sounds more like interference than fked keys....

Unless of course they reprogrammed some additional keys and they're gonna come and nick your car tonight.... wink

no it's happening everywhere. Had no issues with interference before.
I know the garage had to plug into the computer as I asked them to clear and reset all the service counters, perhaps they have done something wrong?
It is possible from them to have voided our keys somehow??

They didn't touch any interior trims i.e remove anything and refit did they?

Any ideas what diagnostic kit they used on it?

Have you tried reprogramming the keys?
