My Daughter has been driving a 2010 Mini Graphite 1.6 D for the past year, it has covered 85,000 miles has a very good service history and in the last year has never missed a beat. It starts from cold with no hesitation and no smoke. It has had a timing belt change about one month age. A couple of weeks age it developed a misfire that happens at roughly 2000 rpm, when accelerating the revs hit 2000 it give a miss and accelerates smoothly on up the revs, change gear and the very same fault happens. If the accelerator is pressed gently to get to 2000 rpm and the accelerator is held in that position the engine will continually misfire, press the accelerator a bit more and the engine revs cleanly again.

No check engine light has come on and there are no stored faults.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. David.

Possibly related to the timing belt change - something disturbed or not fitted correctly.

Or due to the Rev range it’s happening at it could well be the egr valve not opening smoothly - you could try and run it with it unplugged to see if it still does it but it will bring a warning light on

Thank you Elliot2000 for your reply,
I will check the egr valve and then have the timing belt double checked, even though it starts and drives perfectly in every other way.
