Our 2009 cooper hatch is not equipped with a spare wheel, space saver. I intend to purchase one but it’s the fitting location on the car being the problem. Noticed that some mini’s have a spare located underneath the boot floor, is it possible to retro fit the bracket / holder to our car?
If so we would have a garage do the work, any ball park on costs please?

Yes, it is possible and there are guides on one of the MINI forums, inc part nos.

No idea on price though. Money can be saved by using a Rover space saver, from eBay.

The R55 Clubmans have space to fit a spacesaver. Remember to ensure you have the full toolkit to jack and remove the wheel. It would be worth packing a big heavy duty wheely bin liner to place the flat full sized wheel in.

IIRC, only MINI Ones had the option of a spacesaver spare and it was a rare option.

Thanks. Seen some space savers on fleabay with the jack, looking for supplier of the actual brackets now. I will ask our local Mini specialist how much they will charge me for the fitting.
