Hi all

How do I remove the last alternate Holt in this mini cooper D 2011?

It's had a slight front impact and also cracked the alternator mount. Any ideas on how to repair?

Thanks

Alternate Holt?

Did you mean alternator bolt? Did you not read what you had tried to write before posting?

I've made some assumptions. Feel free to correct.

Bolt is too long to come out. Is butting up against "something"

1. Remove the "something"

b. Cut bolt and remove remaining short bit (this does not help with reassembly)

III. Tilt engine over or remove. Not a joke in modern tightly packed engine bays.

This is a French diesel alternator swap. Couple of minutes long.

French to English translation needed on the overlay.
* Open the boot
* Disconnect the battery
* Remove the engine cover
* Unlock the <pebble> and push it back
* Remove the 2 fixing bolts (12 & 14 mm)
* Remove the alternator
* Move the old plate to the new alternator
* Change your belt and push your tensioner to the maximum inner position and tighten
* Set torque wrench to 100 Nm
* Use the torque wrench to tighten the nuts to the torque.

Not sure what the <pebble> is (a literal translation of galet that may mean something else in automotive mechanics). I'm assuming it is to do with removing the serpentine belt.

Maybe you need to go further as the bracket is cracked?

Galet is tensioner in French. It means release the tensioner pulley so as to be able to remove the serpentine belt from the alternator pulley.
