Been looking for a car to replace our ML270cdi family wagon which we have had for 16 years and 175k miles. Having looked at various 4x4's I realised that we don't really need a great big car any more and, equally importantly, I couldn't face the deprecation. Hence I flipped my plan on its head and have just put a deposit down on this

https://approvedusedminis.co.uk/vehicle/2018113028...

It seemed a fair price given the mileage and that it is a 2019 model with the latest gearshift, I think list new with the spec is c£30k. Due to collect it in a week or so and looking forward to some sportier motoring!

Although it is a bit late now as I have bought it(!) any thoughts on the spec appreciated, and if it is missing anything I really should have gone for.

Cheers

Phil

Nice car - I like the colour smile

I bought one for my partner last year; one of the first with the DCT transmission I think. It’s got the options they’ve listed for yours, the key one being the CHILI pack, which will make it a nice car. They only thing I’d have liked as well if I was you would have been front and rear not just rear parking sensors...but it’s not the end of the world!

We’ve also got a panoramic roof, adaptive dampers, the navigation plus pack, leather and privacy glass, but none are essential. The panoramic roof and nav plus are nice to have. I wouldn’t miss the rest though I don’t think. Mind you, I did also add the 19” JCW wheels after it’d been delivered (which weren’t cheap...) and they’re not needed at all. They look good, but don’t do the ride or handling any favours :/

Very nice, like the wheels! I would have liked the panoramic roof but didn't want t hang out any longer for the ideal spec as my old ML is getting to its last legs and wanted to change before disaster struck!

Mini Park Lane have been good to deal with so far, they are delivering the car for free on Thursday to Lancashire as they need the sale to be done by the end of the month, which is ideal and saves me at trip to London.

Car arrived safely and like brand new, great to drive and even sounds quite sporty. Most impressive thing so far is the headlights, I now realise that the ones on my old ML and Defender are useless and I am not going blind...

To top it off I even shifted my ML on ebay for a half decent price so, for once, I have not (yet) lost my shirt on a car....!

Ah OK, I saw an advert for one and it was AWD, so thought they might all be. Hope they've resolved the snatchy front end on the new one, my 2010 skips all over the place

Is yours on runflats ?

The led lights are great, so much better than my r55’s xenons

My brother has just picked up a f55, the options I made him have were leds, media XL and chilli

Any idea what version mine will be, it is 68 reg Clubman Cooper S and has the latest BMW style automatic box so I think it is a 2019 model. It does not have the latest Union Jack style rear lights?

That engine responds very well to a tuning box. Racechips do one that takes it to 246BHP.
