R60 Mini Countryman 2016 audio bluetooth issue
Discussion
As title really
Car has media pack and manual says I can connect and listen to music through a bluetooth connection
When I try to do this (phone connection works OK) the audio option doesn't appear.
Phone is a Samsung Galaxy 6 and I was able to do this in my previous car (Skoda Yeti)
Any clues as to what I am doing wrong ?

You should not have any problems. Until recently I was using a Samsung Note 3 without issue and that was 6 years old.
There are options after pairing the phone to select what the phone can be used for. Make sure Bluetooth audio is selected.
Only other thing it could be is that the source
on the radio covers the CD player, USB, AUX and Bluetooth. Worth checking that you have the phone available and selected in there once paired
Hope that helps

I had a similar issue initially - Bluetooth connects for telephone but not media. The fix was to go into the configure Bluetoooth menu and hit configure (even if it's already tethered to your mobile device); it seems to refresh the connection and sorts out media streaming problem (so I can zip through Spotify playlists through the OBC - and it shows the tracks being played).

frigging useless

Having another go
I do not get the bluetooth audio option
Any thoughts
I'll have a look later today and make a note of the steps I use to get around the issue. It's a bit weird as sometimes it tethers and everything works, other times it only has telephone functionality until it's reconfigured. I do not get the bluetooth audio option
Any thoughts
This might help, if the problem's what I experienced with Bluetooth connectivity being limited:
- Under CD/Multimedia, click Bluetooth (audio).
- Click on the mobile device that you have tethered.
- Click configure device.
- When that's finished, click OK
When you go back to selecting the type of media to play, it should allow for the phone to stream (Spotify etc) and show the playlist and allow you to skip tracks via the OBC.
I find the above sequence sorts out the connection 95% of the time, hope it's of some help
- Under CD/Multimedia, click Bluetooth (audio).
- Click on the mobile device that you have tethered.
- Click configure device.

There are some MINI VIN lookup sites that say they report the options list.
Not tried them myself, but might let you check if BT audio was included.
Or drop in at a dealer and ask them to check if the feature has been enabled.

Will be calling the 'product genius' at my local mini dealer on Monday
