Warning light - yellow car on ramp
Discussion
I've had a yellow warning lamp on the dash, which is a car on a ramp. I have scanned and can't find an error and I've checked the service menu and nothing is due (I did an oil and filter change yesterday and reset that)
Google hasn't come up with any helpful answers. Comes on when I start the ignition, there is no loss of power, or any other issue that I can see
It's a 2010 Clubman Cooper S with an N18 engine
Edit - the only other thing of note, is the yellow battery light comes on sometimes

Looking at the manual for mine (2010 Cooper with N12 engine) suggests a yellow "inspect car" symbol (on the "big" (ahem) screen in the small pod in front of the steering wheel) suggests it's "drive system failure" (or something phrased very much like that), no idea what that means as the car drives fine OR "brake light system failure" which IMO is also bunk as stepping on the brake pedal even with that symbol displayed it's obvious all three are working ...Google hasn't come up with any helpful answers. I've found it a very intermittent problem, typically getting it when putting the fob back in after a short journey, maybe about 1 time in 4? Oddly, when I use the other key fob It's about 1 in 10 so I use that one more often I also suspect it's something to do with the battery, it appears more often when the weather is colder, and the car is often bhing about the (I believe original) battery, sometimes as little a 30 seconds without starting the engine.
TL;DR - similar car/problems/conclusions. I'd like to know how you get on

As I'm also getting the battery light every now and again, I'm going to start there.... Thanks. Mine looks like no.5 which says it's vehicle check, I just don't have the date or numbers with it.I had a similar light on a 58 plate Cooper while under warranty.
Dealer said yellow is a precaution, OK to drive but booked it in same day anyway. Turned out to be a blocked oil breather pipe.
Others (it was a few years ago, so might be wrong):
Orange is limp home, dealer immediate.
Red is stop and recover.

Ok, so this may actually be the MOT notification, as I just realised my MOT is due 15th May
Did a diagnostic check again yesterday and nothing, so fingers crossed that is the issue and for some reason it's just not giving me a date with the warning
Hey, appreciate this was a little while ago now but did you determine the problem? I am facing exactly the same. Thanks in advance.Did a diagnostic check again yesterday and nothing, so fingers crossed that is the issue and for some reason it's just not giving me a date with the warning
I was getting the same lights on mine, both the car on ramp and battery light.
The "Start/Stop" stopped working
The car then started counting down miles for a service.
I put the car on a Ctek agm recon charge for a couple of days.
The battery charge light has not reappeared, start/stop started working again.
I had the car serviced a couple of days ago, they checked the battery, and said no problems, but thought that with little use owing to covid, and that I have a front and rear dash cam that the battery will along with the cold weather drain quicker with little use.
My first battery lasted some 6 yeas, which I don't think is bad

Funny you should say that. I had the same following some very cold weather and use of heated front and rear screens and heated seats. A go on the battery conditioner yesterday has also sorted it as not getting too many miles done either.
I've had one new battery over the course of nine years (think it was also around the six year mark, so could be looking at another new one soon). Mini were actually quite well priced so bought from them. No stop/start on mine so cheaper batteries

I also have the yellow car on ramp symbol and if anything is in for a few minutes without engine running I’ll get the battery amber warning as well. You got the car on ramp disappear after the battery change ? I’m wondering whether I need to change the battery or get it to Mini Garage(which I really don’t want to)The "Start/Stop" stopped working

First thing I would do is charge car up fully, gets rid of the charging issue.
It could be it just needs one of those "Mini inspection" service where they plug it in, and charge you a few quid to say it's ok reset the computer and away you go
Mine happened to need a service, and did count down the miles to it. When you switch on, the dash should show how many miles due to service, and goes into the red for a few seconds then goes back to normal dash settings

I checked the service info and even reset all so got few years and tens of thousands of miles for all. Checked the battery health and seems a replacement will be good. So have ordered a new one. Hopefully a that’s it. Meanwhile I went through the manual and seems this symbol is for brake lights or fuel supply issues. Or even for engine malfunction and will be restricted speed. I don’t seem to have any brake light issues or fuel or engine issues that I can detect. Will see, probably Mini wants to plug to dealer system and reset something and charge for it 🤦♂️It could be it just needs one of those "Mini inspection" service where they plug it in, and charge you a few quid to say it's ok reset the computer and away you go
