Decent Mini Classifieds in the UK?
Discussion
Hey folks. I'm in the market for a good-value facelift R53 (to turn into a track car), but I'm really struggling to find a decent owners' club style classifieds section to improve my chances of getting a loved car.
Between MiniTorque and Mini2, there's about one new advert a month posted. Am I missing something obvious, given the number of cars out there?
Otherwise, should I just be persisting with Autotrader, eBay and Facebook?

Agree ^^^^. Come up quite regularly on the R53 Owners Club on Facebook. And/or you can post a wanted and members wishing to move their cars on will respond. R53OC is now up to 5,570 members. So very focussed. Many of us track our cars. Some are road cars we track (mine) and some are out and out track cars.
There were at least 60 of us at Minis at Brooklands last Sunday. By far the largest club, group, contingent there.

There are a few specialists selling them via Instagram, whereabouts in the country are you?

56 reg? You sure it's got a supercharger and not a turbocharger?
Must be one of the last (unless it's a convertible).
You're going to have to trust that I'm not an idiot, having owned a R53 Works in the dim and distant past. It's one of the last R53s, with an August 2006 build date according to the VIN.Must be one of the last (unless it's a convertible).
Haha. I wasn't overly concerned about colour, but had a secret hankering for a blue one.
I'm going to book it with one of the specialists for an Inspection 1 and a 17% pulley ASAP. I'll probably get the one ball done to the exhaust at the same time, along with some braided hoses, better pads and an alignment.
Apart from 1320 and Lohen, is there anyone else I should consider? (I'm in central London)

Sussex Road and Race have done a few builds, they should be fine with the above.
Millsy's Autos is another cracking place, but he's busy as fk so you might struggle to get in.
If you're planning on keeping it for a while, I'd consider getting the timing chain, guides, and tensioner done as a preventative measure if it's not been done recently.

Thank you so much. 1320 are booked up for the next month, and Lohen have a 2wk wait.Millsy's Autos is another cracking place, but he's busy as fk so you might struggle to get in.
