Looking for advice anyone used Sussex Road and Race in Littlehampton? Mini needs a service and am thinking of using them rather than main dealer? If anyone has any feedback please let me know ta.

Yes, I've used them for the past 3 years for all fixes, servicing, brake upgrades etc etc. Very well known and respected MINI specialists who prepare race MINIs (and win!) - Kevin (the owner) is ex-Cooper and a really nice chap. However they are not the cheapest...

Not sure which Generation MINI you have.

I've heard mixed feedback on SSR from non race car customers. But great for race and that is their focus. I have not used them personally.

You could try Tony Franks at Mini Motorsport, a little further East along the coast, in Shoreham-on-Sea.
He has an excellent reputation. His focus is on classic Minis and the Gen 1 R53 supercharged S.

Here is an excerpt from his bio from the website:
Tony Franks worked for John Cooper Garages for 25 years, overseeing the special limited edition classic Mini's with John Cooper and involved in the John Cooper Works engineering for new MINI with Mike Cooper. He was also a prime mover behind the MINI Challenge race series.
MINI Motorsport was initially formed to supply engineering support for the MINI Challenge championship.

Interesting isn't... I've had very mixed feedback about the place in Shoreham, although, like you with SRR, I've never used them!

I guess the OP is spoilt for choice - probably best to go and have a chat to both and see which you prefer - I do admit that SRR are quite race/track day orientated, but then my R53 is a track car mainly.

Yours being mainly a tracker, SSR would be perfect.
They are very race orientated, their specialism. Clearly they know their stuff but there might be alternatives for road use cars.
And that's what I do with any and all of the outfits I use - have a chat, check them out, put my nose on them. I always visit as well, before I'd let them undertake anything. That goes for dyno, live mappers, body work, painters, mechanical, alignment - anything. But then I'm retired, so I have the time to enjoy that luxury.

Agreed. Super knowledgable, and very helpful, but seriously expensive based on the quote I saw.

I used them once or twice when i was over that way.

I was quite please with the service they provided, and would have continued to use them if i hadn't moved!
