Hi all, my wife has a 2010 Mini Cooper S and is starting to do some miles in it. We don’t have a stand alone sat nav (like a TomTom, Garmin etc) and she would typically use ‘maps’ on her phone.

Can anyone recommend a dash/vent-mounted phone holder that would fit the Mini for her to use her phone as sat nav?

Cheers

I recommend something like these:

You stick it to somewhere on your dash and then stick a magnet to the back of your phone or to the inside of your phones case and it will keep it perfect even on bumpy or country roads.

I have mine just to the left of my steering wheel on the dash.

I’m using one of these (albeit not in a mini). Holds very firmly, although I’m not sure how well it will cope long term with W large phone (XZ Premium). I like that there are no ratchets/arms to rattle.

I bought one of these (different seller but they’re all the same) after trying every shagging thing on the market. Well, all the cheap ones wink

They are metal, (so stable), and attach to the back of the speedo housing with supplied longer screws. I like it cos I tried various others all with problems. The phone bit is sprung loaded ie 1 side extends to grip your phone. This type keeps it close to driver within arms reach so you can operate phone map. Doesn’t obscure dials or heater. We found problem with mini is the screen is miles away so very hard to use screen suction varieties. And nothing sticks to the dash which is curved in every flaming direction.
