MINI Connected + CarPlay
Discussion
Just picked up a new F56 Cooper S, which is great. I chopped in my 335i. The mini is awesome to drive, especially with the DCT gearbox.
What is not so great, is that CarPlay is nowhere to be seen, and MINI connected just does not work at all. Having spoken to customer services and the dealer, no one seems to know what the flying fk it's supposed to do, or how to activate it...
Does anyone here know anything? So far, I have managed to register my car to Connected via the website (apparently using the app is 'not the way to do it' according to customer service, even though that's what all the documentation says). The car is showing in the app, but it just says 'MINI Remote services requires an active subscription blah blah blah...', which I have as it is standard on all the cars now. I have the Connected Nav, all the options apart from Nav XL. Customer services also said they would update the car over the air, this was after claiming that it doesn't actually have a sim card installed, even though that is supposed to be standard these days.
Also, CarPlay just does not show up at all in the connection menu.
Anyone else having these issues? Have MINI forgotten to activate things? Or is it the dealer? fking nightmare and not a good start to ownership...
Thanks
