I have recently bought an R53 Cooper S Track car and it seems to have a fuel starvation problem once it gets down to about half a tank on the gauge. Fuel level/gauge is correct
Last time it happened was just pulling away from traffic lights and it seemed to lose all power or go into limp mode. Thankfully petrol station was 100yds away and was fine when filled

The fuel pump on these has a space round it that is sealed at the bottom & this is where the fuel return from the in-tank fuel regulator is fed. It works as a surge tank as it is always full & if an uprated fuel pump has been fitted it is likely that it does not fill the same gap.

If this is the case you will need to either bridge the gap with a manufactured spacer or fit an original one.

TBH on these there is no point in fitting an uprated pump anyway as the filter housing (as above has a fuel pressure regulator in it so the only way to get better fuel pressure is to change the pump, filter, fuel system lines, and injector rail to allow a normal supply to an in-line regulator and a dual pump system from both sides of the (saddle-bag type) tank. BIG JOB!!!

Find out if the PO has fitted an "uprated fuel pump" and if they have remove it.

If you don't mind me asking what is the spec & what did you pay?

PM if you don't want to tell the world.

Paid £2700 and that included spare set of alloys with newish slicks fitted, a set of Sabelt harness and a vertical handbrake.
It’s just for a bit of fun and to save the abuse on my 911

Looks to be a decent price/spec, I only ask as I have one myself & was curious.

Did you get a dyno print-out with the remap?

Did you manage to find out about the fuel pump?
