Updating satnav & Radio

Hi all I have a ‘12 mini jcw I would like to up date maps and the radio. Is this something I have to get Mini to do? Or is there any third party or independent mini specialists who can do this? Might save me some money happy to do myself if it is straight forward ? Any advice gratefully received
Yes, you can do this yourself - I presume you are referring to a map update to the latest Europe verion. I did my 2011 JCW a couple of years back but apologies because I can't remember the site I used. I did a quick search just now and there are many options available to you.
The way this worked for me was I paid upfront and they then sent me a download link for the maps and an authorisation code if I remember correctly. You download the map update onto a USB stick, plug it into the socket in the glovebox and hey presto it does the update. You an also take it along to soemone to do for you (a few companies popped up in my search). Do some price comparisons and give it a go. Doing it yourself is pretty simple and may be the cheapest option.
