Hi, I was driving my mini cooper D R56 and I noticed it had lost a lot of power, i thought nothing of it but then a check engine light threw on. When I got home, the air intake pipe was loose and had come off and so I epoxyed the air intake back together. I used a code reader and it mentioned "insufficient exhaust gas recirculation". The car sometimes wont rev over 3000 either. Are these all mutually exclusive and what do I do? Do I replace the intake? Do I replace or clean the egr valve?

Sounds like it's going into 'limp mode' because the ECU has detected a fault and shuts off full power as a self-protection measure - normal procedure.

Read the code, fix the issue and then clear the codes. This should clear the 'check-engine' lamp and all will be good.
