2008 Cooper S clubman

Hi

I’m looking at a 2008 cooper S clubman as a second car to use as a bit of fun and to commute in, i’ve seen a couple for sale at around £4.5k with about 75k miles. question is would I be mad to go for one of these, i’m pretty practical when it comes to working on a car running my own race team but is it just going to be a massive headache?

I am a bit of a broken record on this. I owned a 2007 R55 Clubman S for about 6 years.

Keep a close eye on the oil level. Check any car from cold to see if the timing chain rattles. (Mine did without problems but it is commonly known as the 'death rattle')


Mine only had a couple of inexpensive faults in the 6 year I owned it.

Well I’ve bought one, 2009 50k miles get it on Wednesday.
Trip to Cornwall planned Wednesday night so will give it a good 600-800 miles in the firsts few days of ownership.
Can’t wait to get it
