Clubman R54 asked for 2 litre of oil...now saying overfull

Hi. Only had my Clubman for a few weeks. Second hand but under warranty and has been serviced by Mini.

Yesterday it complained about the oil level and asked for a litre of oil.

So, I bought a litre of Castrol Edge Titanium LL04 0-30w and now it’s saying overfill.

Mini weren’t too worried about when I told them and I am guessing that there is some tolerance but the electronic gauge is completely full.

Any advice? I really need the car this weekend and they can’t sort it anytime soon but I understand too much oil can kill an engine.

Have I got enough leeway to be safe or could I drain some myself?

There is nothing funny coming out of the exhaust when it does the oil level check.

Where is the level at on your dipstick?

Its electronic isn't it ? Have you measured the oil ?
