Hey Guys,

I recently took my 17 inch S-Spoke Alloys off of my Mini due to them looking absolutely shocking due to the Curbing on them (From Previous Owners).

So, I decided to shop around for some really nice Alloys to make my Mini stand out and actually look presentable. I decided on a set of Alloys which are the MG ZR 17" which look absolutely amazing and go straight onto my car due to the PCD being the same and everything like that. The only issue is that they have been powder coated in a gloss black with a clear lacquer finish being applied ontop. The only issue is that I am very concerned about keeping them in this good condition and to prevent any sort of chemicals or nasty things like brake dust eating through the lacquer and ruining the look of these amazing alloys!

So any sort of help when it comes to protection either in the form of Wax or a resin which i would need to polish in or even just something as simple as a rattle can which has a sort of protection spray in it would be really helpful!

Thanks again for reading this!

(This is my First post Apologies for it being so long)

Kindest Regards,

Matt smile

Welcome to the Mini section, your could try a sealant on the wheels, something like Gtechnic C5, it stops contaminates such as brake dust sticking to the wheels. Cheaper alternatives are poorboys wheel sealant or Finishkare FK1000.

Its C5 that i would use though.

With the wheels make sure you do them EFT, the MG wheels have a slightly different style of wheel bolt. I ran Hairpins as winter wheels but you really had to do them tight

EFT? What does that mean and I understand that they have a slightly different style of bolt and stuff. The Gtechnic is very expensive for the amount you get and will last a year. However, do you have any experience with the Finishkare FK1000? If so Id love to hear some feedback or some details on how that wentsmile
