All input welcome - especially the convertible model and the auto gearbox. How do the used values hold up?

Many thanks!

I have a 2012 Roadster Cooper S, bought with 12k on clock now 42k in 2 years. Fun to drive, been very reliable, just had a new water pump. Likes a touch of oil, but not as much as older N14 engines.

Its fun to drive, and with the roof down can hear exhaust much better. I am 6ft 4 and 18 stone and have plenty of room and the boot is a decent size.

Longest I have had a car.... cant see me getting rid to be honest!

Gen 2 Mini engines are known for using some oil. Best to check it every 1000 miles or so even on a known engine. N14 is the engine used in the earlier cars, up to about 2010 if I recall correctly. Later cars have the more powerful N18 engine, which is a better engine.

If you allow oil to run low it can cause wider issues, hence the N18 being the safer bet.
