R56 Engine Part
Discussion
The Mrs had an issue with her 1.6 Cooper this week, replaced the pre Cat Lambda sensor and it all seems okay. Whilst I was changing it I notices a lot of gunk over the connectors & wiring towards the front. Looking further I could see that there was a fir tree under the housing which seemed to be leaking a little oil & that was travelling down the wiring onto the connectors.
I nipped up the fixings in the housing but I know it has a o-ring in so it has me thinking could it need changing, however I don't know what the part is called
I think it may also benefit from the plasic rocker cover gasket being changed too as it looked like it was seeping which with it being a non S I'm hoping is an easier job.

Rocker cover is easy to change
I tightened the torx fixings on the VAC pump & the 2 8mm which connect it to the head & it doesn't seem to be leaking but is it worth trying to do an o-ring change first rather than a new VAC pump? Does it even need changing if it isn't leaking anymore?Rocker cover is easy to change
Will get a gasket kit this week & change it on Saturday. Do you have a guide or know what torque & pattern to fasten the cover back down to?
