Help Find My USB Slot!

PH Collective, I'm hoping you'll be able to help me locate my wife's second USB slot in her car. Stop smirking at the back

My wife has a 2011 Mini Countryman Cooper and is pretty well spec'd. I actually think it used to be a company car for someone at Mini, reason being it's pretty well spec'd, has been serviced at at Mini MD all its life and on the number plate it says Mini UK rather than a dealer. Is this logical thinking?

Anyway, the missing slot. I can see a USB slot just behind the gearstick next to the aux socket but when I press the MODE button on the radio there are a range of options; TUNER, DAB, AUX, USB, USB2. I have no idea where the USB2 port is, I have looked everywhere. My sister also has a Countryman of the same generation, she doesn't have the USB2 option.

So, does anyone have a clue where I may find this mythical port?

Nope, I've thoroughly checked pretty much everywhere! I'm starting to think it doesn't exist and could be a software issue.

What happens when you select USB 2? Does it come up with some data or does it just say "no input found" or whatever it should say?

It just says INSERT USB 2. Same message as when I press USB without anything in the port.

Is it in the 'secret' glovebox?

Is that a Mini Hatch? The Countryman looks a bit different.

Yep, I've been through the manual at least twice looking for any mention of this port!

A google search directed me to an American forum which shows a port in the glovebox. I had a look in the glovebox and all I saw was a blanking plate. I tried to prise it off but felt too tight to come off without anything snapping.

You will only have a 2nd one if yoU have the visual boost screen / nav

It would be located in the glovebox but is purely for the use of software upgrade for the screen / nav and your USB stick won't work in it anyway

Is there not one in the channel between the front seats, either at the back or the front behind the gearstick

Probably USB v2.0 not a second USB port.
