I have a Mini Cooper S R56 and need to replace 2 front tyres. I presently have Potenzas, which I find a bit vague in the wet.

Any suggestions please for tyres that are soft as don’t do much mileage, just want all round performance. I have seen Falken ZE914s, has anyone got these?

Thanks.

Another vote for the Uniroyal Rainsport 3

They were recommended to me by steve-5snwi and I'm impressed with them, especially in the wet.

I picked up a pair of Michelin Pilot Supersports for the front of my Cooper S.

I haven't got around to changing the backs yet but the car feels a lot more sure-footed in the wet than with the Pirelli P7s which were on there before.

I believe these have now been replaced by the Pilot Sport 4s mentioned above, however I couldn't find those in the right size when searching for them in December as my car has the 18s.

Heard good things about Uniroyal Rainsport 3s as well.

yep Rainsport 3's would be my fav, if you want to spend more then go for the MPS4's, Camskill are the cheapest for the uniroyals, they are cheaper than i can get them from work.

Had a set of Rainsport 3s fitted to my wife’s 2013 MCS r56. They have transformed the car in terms of ride and grip. One of the cheaper options too and replaced original Hankooks. Will most likely stick with them and very pleased.

After years of Vredestein ultrac sessantas (in 215/40/17 XL) I'm trying RainSport 3's, yet to fit on the rims yet but seem slightly softer in the side wall and I have stuck with 215/40/17 (XL) so hopefully will still be sharp enough without the dreaded sidewall roll on turn in.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport if you can still get them. If not, then Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. If they aren't yet available in the corect size, then Michelin Pilot Sport 4 (i.e. not the S).

I've written about the Super Sports before - what a phenomenal tyre for outright performance and grip. I love them to bits.
