got copper flakes in rad expansion tank?

hello chaps I got a 2006 and 99k miles on the clock looked the other day check the oil and in the expansion tank I see the coolant is dirty and got copper flaks lots in the bottle?


any idea is it the water pump? but that was changed six months back?

will try and get a photo?

Sounds like someone has put K-Seal in to stop a leak.

As above, recently bought an old Honda with the same issue. Radiator was leaking and garage had put k seal in.

If its a MINI, its more likely to be HGF, which they are prone to. But yes, someone has put K Seal or similar in for whatever reason - rather than identify and resolve an issue.
