Bought a 2006 R52 Cooper convertible private last week and a couple of issues have suddenly arisen. The passenger window is leaking water at the top near the front pillar. It is dripping in. Does anyone know a fix for this?

Also the alarm is randomly going off itself when the car is locked. I have to leave it unlocked at the moment. I have read that it could be a boot latch or bonnet sensor but is there any way of telling or is it just fit new ones and hope that's it?

Thanks for any assistance you peeps can give.

Still having issues with the water getting in so hoping someone has a fix for this. For info the alarm was the bonnet sensor.

If it’s dripping in over the edge of the sensor then it’s worth trying to adjust the glass first - pull up the outer window moulding on top edge of the door and u will see 2 big funny shape nuts holding the glass- loosen these off and then push the glass up and to the front as much as u can and then tighten it back up.
Btw does the window drop a little bit when u open and shut the door?

U need someone with a laptop to read with sensor is causing the alarm to go off - I think the led in the rear view mirror used to flash in different ways depending on which sensor caused it but I can’t remember exactly.

U can leave the bonnet switch disconnected - it won’t do any harm and if that’s the fault it will stop going off

Not sure what you mean by water coming in by the sensor Elliott. The window does drop as it should. It seems to be coming in just where the top of the drain channel is but this seems clear. The alarm is all ok now.
