Just wanted to say "Hi."

Been an off and on contributor in the Porsche forums as I owned a 2002 Boxster and a 2003 996 Turbo, but both of these have been sold.

But not before I replaced them with 2 new cars.

One of which is a 2018 Mini John Cooper Works Hardtop 2-door; rebel green; 6-speed manual, 17" JCW Black Track wheels; Harmon Kardon premium sound system; Siruis radio, and that's about it. Bought this car 17/12/27.

Here's a (not very good) pic of the car:

Have put not quite 500 miles on the car so far and every mile I'm loving the car more. What a great little green beast.

Thanks. I do catch myself giving the car a backwards glance when I park it. Always a good sign.

Why those wheels? Nothing brillant, just the fact the wheels were on the car and I bought the car off the showroom floor.

My other new car -- bought just 10 days before the JCW -- is in white but came with forged black aluminum wheels. Guess I'm on a black wheel kick.

Nice motor....I have the same wheels on a "pepper" white "Baker Street" car.....and they look great. I expect you will be spending a shed load of time visiting petrol stations!

Pepper white is a very nice color.

Fuel consumption ain't bad even though engine being new is stil "tight" and I'm not shooting for mileage but seeking to break in the engine properly. Lots of varying RPMs and engine loading.

And when I do fill up the gas tank it is with just 6 or 8 gallons rather than the 10, 12, or sometimes even 14 gallons my other cars required after covering the same miles.

What size tank is in it? I thought they all had 8 gallon tanks these days?.....just one of the minor "faults" is the tank size for me, as I often have to fill mine 2/3 times a week...

If you read what he says properly he says it is 8 gallons by virtue of the fact that he only ever needs to fill up by up to 8 gallons at the most.

IIRC the JCW fuel tank size is 11.3 gallons. My two Porsches had a fuel tank size of 16.9 gallons and 16.6 gallons. My new Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack has an 18+ gallon fuel tank. It was putting around 15 gallons in this one a week or so back lightened my wallet by $50.
