Manic 2 map for R56 JCW, infos
Discussion
Hi all
I have a R56 JCW N14, Forge intercooler, downpipe and 200 cells cat from Milltek, panel filter, very soft engine remap done to stay "safe" with around 240 hp and 320 Nm.
I don't need more power for the road but I'm planning a couple of Ring trackdays for 2018 and looking at Manic 2 numbers I'm very tempted: it seems there are 30 hp hidden somewhere under the bonnet.
Also the torque is actually diesel like while I'd prefer something more over 4000 rpm.
I have a Wavetrac diff and a Clutchmasters FX350 new in their boxes ready to fit which should work well with some more torque..
Questions are:
Is Manic 2 affordable for track use?
Would you recommend a specific aftermarket blowoff valve?
I am currently running the OEM valve after having destroyed a "Bonalume" while flat out in Kesselchen straight.

If you're after a comparison on mapping etc., I recommend you get yourself over to the Minitorque forum where there are plenty with Manic stage 2 maps installed.
Lohen as one of the main tuners for Manic report circa 60-80 bhp gains, subject to the usual provisos on having all the required modifications needed - including uprated spark plugs & "Super" type unleaded fuel. I suspect any increases would be at the lower figure of around 60bhp & if I were you, I'd not want the maximum increased bhp given the extra load the engine is put under as it's just asking for the engine to break & an expensive bill for a rebuild or forging the block etc.
Once you've posted on the Minitorque forum, I suggest you take a trip either to Lohen or Sussex Road and Race or similar. BTW, if you've not read already, the reported outputs differ normally depending on whose rolling road your car is on.

I've got an R55 FJCW N14 which is also my daily, running a Manic Stage 2 (AEM intake/Airtec intercooler/de-cat/R53 Jcw lsd/Helix 4 paddle clutch)), dyno'd at 235 @ the wheels (approx. 277bhp) & 299ft lbs, often gets taken on trackdays & rwyb at Santa Pod & runs very well indeed, oem valve works fine for me.I have a R56 JCW N14, Forge intercooler, downpipe and 200 cells cat from Milltek, panel filter, very soft engine remap done to stay "safe" with around 240 hp and 320 Nm.
