Build slot

Ordered a new F56 last week and it's still awaiting to be allocated a build slot. Dealer can't give me a timeframe. Any experiences here and how long did it typically take for a slot to be allocated?

I ordered my JCW from a dealer here in the Netherlands in June 2016. 4 weeks later (July) I got the build slot and a delivery date of September which in early August slipped back to delivery in October 2016.

Can't remember the full details, but when Mrs ZS ordered hers in the spring it was about 6 weeks from order date to delivery.

A week on from my post and over 2 weeks from the order and still no allocated production slot sadly.

I'll see if I can dig out more details, but I think we had to wait a while for a build slot. Once allocated it didn't seem to be too long afterwards until delivery.

The order for my wife's Cooper was accepted on 6th April, in production on 24th April, and in the dealership ready for collection on 20th May.

Looking back, we collected hers on 20th May. Got an email on 27th April to say it was in production. Ordered early April (can't remember when)

Just heard that its scheduled now which is good news - with estimated handover the week after its build week? Seems very optimistic!

Then we're both mad - I thought I was the daftest person in the UK to order a Cooper after the new road tax charges came into effect on 1st April so that I could support the economy by paying £140 p.a. road tax instead of the previous £30!

Back in late 2006 my mum ordered one of the first Pepper White R56 Coopers, was built and completed on 10th Jan 2007 and handed over on the 17th. Entirely possible.

My F60 PHEV is being built next week (week 46) with delivery scheduled for week 49. Unfortunately the RAC will be ruining my fun and fitting a telematics device meaning I will actually take delivery week 50 or even pushing into 51.

I ordered it through my company on 1 July, they stuffed up and ordered 1 August, with a crappy to and fro between them and the dealership resulting in the order eventually being confirmed August 23rd.

Maybe 16 weeks from confirmation to delivery on this one.
